FOR THE PICTURE-FRAME WORLD

Prize Roberto Farnè – The 2015 Kick Off

The Prize aims to select an advanced culturally aware project that also boasts a high profile in terms of design and materials research. Design and materials research have always been the targets that challenged Roberto Farnè research in improving the offer of the family company, founded in 1965.

Only entries submitted by frame manufacturers firms exhibiting at the 2015 edition of FAMAART will be evaluated.

The exhibition of the candidate frames will be located in the exhibition hall from March 6th to 8th.

The winner – selected by a jury of the experts Louise Hay and Giorgio Verzotti – will be announced on Friday 6th during an event upon invitation.

GIORGIO VERZOTTI

Giorgio is actually the Co-Artistic Director of Arte Fiera – international exhibition of modern and contemporary art.

He is a contemporary art critic and has been Chief Curator at Castello (Rivoli, Turin) and at Mart Museum (Rovereto). He is contributor for many specialized reviews. He is Professor at the University “Cattolica” and at NABA (New Academy of Fine Arts), both in Milan.

LOUISE HAY

Louise is the Chief Executive of the Fine Art Trade Guild, an international trade association for the art and framing industry, based in London. Working with various member committees, she is directly responsible for the development and management of standards for the industry including framing, mountboard and print standards, as well as the qualifications Guild Commended and Guild Certified Framer. The Guild has run an annual awards programme for many years and Louise has experience of judging at this and other international framing awards.
Louise trained as a 3D designer and for ten years ran a studio glass business making handmade table wares. Coming from a family of artists she has spent her whole life around art and frames.
